Definitions

 

Although I know that you know what these words mean, I felt that they were important in my arguments and that my definitions should be known.

 

culture

n. The totality of socially transmitted behavior patterns, arts, beliefs, institutions, and all other products of human work and thought.

 

syncretism

n. Reconciliation or fusion of differing systems of belief, as in philosophy or religion, especially when success is partial or the result is heterogeneous.

 

heterogeneous

adj. Consisting of dissimilar elements or parts; not homogeneous.

 

integrate

v.

1. To make into a whole by bringing all parts together; unify.

2.a. To join with something else; unite. b. To make part of a larger unit.

3. To open to people of all races or ethnic groups without restriction; desegregate.
